Employment
There is an imbalance of power within the employment relationship. In general, employers have the upper hand. To address this imbalance, workers need assistance and the rights of employees are at the heart of LAG's work on employment law. We comment extensively on employment dispute resolution issues and argue for government action to enable workers to access advice and representation. Our legal handbooks are renowned for their clear, user-friendly style; our training courses and regular magazine updates also support the work of practitioners. LAG comments extensively on and argues against barriers for employment tribunal applicants - such as the threat of costs awards.
