Criminal justice
The guarantee of a fair trial for those facing criminal charges is a fundamental human right. LAG works to defend the rights of the accused, while recognising that the interests of victims and witnesses within the criminal justice system should be appropriately protected. Through its training and publications, LAG also supports defence practitioners.
Free training for defence solicitors
Out of Trouble, a Prison Reform Trust campaign to reduce child and youth imprisonment, is working with Just for Kids Law, a team of youth criminal defence lawyers and youth advocates, to bring a series of free CPD-accredited training days in different cities around the country to practising criminal defence lawyers across England and Wales. Training is accredited by the SRA.
