• Tunç and Tunç v Turkey* App No 24014/05, 14 April 2015 Tunç concerned Cihan Tunç, a Turkish army sergeant and a gendarme who was killed in disputed circumstances while protecting the site of a private oil company. A military prosecutor initiated an investigation, during which an autopsy and forensic tests were conducted. Potential witnesses were questioned. The prosecutor concluded that the most likely cause of Mr Tunç's death was suicide, rather than wrongdoing on the part of MS, the gendarme who had last seen the deceased.
