Policy and legislation Police bail The provisions of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 regarding police bail without charge came into force on 3 April 2017 by virtue of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (Commencement No 1 and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017 SI No 399.
