Nic Madge is a circuit judge. He was formerly a district judge and head of the housing department at Bindman and Partners, London. He is co-author of Defending Possession Proceedings (LAG, 8th edn, 2016) and a member of the senior editorial board of Civil Procedure (the White Book) (Sweet & Maxwell). He has written for many years on housing law and co-authors ‘Recent developments in housing law’ in Legal Action. He is a founder member of the Housing Law Practitioners Association and is a member of the tutor team of the Judicial College. He has been a member of the Civil Justice Council. Sam Madge-Wyld is a barrister and member of Arden Chambers. He specialises in housing and local government law. Sam is co-author, with Andrew Arden QC and Robert Brown, of Quiet enjoyment (8th edn, 2017) and co-author of Defending possession proceedings 8th edn, 2016 (both LAG). He is also a contributor to the Local Government Encyclopaedia (on the Human Rights Act 1998) and an assistant editor of Local Government Finance (both Sweet and Maxwell). Sam has written articles that have appeared in the Journal of Housing Law, New Law Journal, Local Government Lawyer and Judicial Review.
