Court fees rise
From 21 March, the government introduced a number of increases to court fees in civil and family proceedings in England and Wales. There were also large increases for cases brought in immigration and asylum judicial review proceedings in the Upper Tribunal; for example, the fee for contested general applications on notice in immigration judicial review proceedings has risen by £175, from £80 to £255 (see Civil Proceedings, Family Proceedings and Upper Tribunal Fees (Amendment) Order 2016 SI No 402).
