Child migrant fund extended
The Strategic Legal Fund for Vulnerable Young Migrants has been extended for another two years, and is seeking applications for grants for pre-litigation research or legal interventions.
The SLF has already funded Islington Law Centre in a successful challenge to the exclusion of family reunion cases from the exceptional legal aid funding scheme; and, with SLF support, the Asylum Support Appeals Project was granted permission to intervene in a case over refusal of benefits to destitute asylum seekers with outstanding human rights claims.
Grants are up to a maximum of £30,000; and the application deadlines are bi-monthly, with the next one being 16 March.
