Consultation events on the review of both the civil and criminal legal aid means tests have been organised by The Law Society (TLS). Civil servants from the Ministry of Justice will be attending what TLS describes as ‘focus groups’ to listen to any concerns about the tests and views on how they may be improved to benefit practitioners and their clients.
The meetings are scheduled to last two hours and will commence at 4.30 pm. The first will be held on 5 February 2020 in Newcastle. Six other meetings are planned around the country, with the final one taking place in Cardiff on 23 March 2020.
Further details are available at: ‘Make your voice heard – attend the legal aid means test review focus groups’ (TLS news story, 19 December 2019).
