About the Job

Gloucester Law Centre is seeking an experienced Housing Solicitor or Advice Worker to join our housing team to provide a full housing law casework service under a Legal Aid Agency contract. A full-time post is offered but part-time may be considered.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate that they have knowledge and experience of advice and advocacy across the range of legally aided housing law matters. Ideally we are seeking a solicitor who can satisfy the Legal Aid Agency Supervisor Standard in the housing category, or will meet that standard shortly, but other applicants with experience of providing housing advice and a passion for working to improve tenants’ lives will be considered. Experience of advising at court under a court desk scheme will also be an advantage.
Gloucester Law Centre is a small, friendly team of solicitors and experienced case-workers, providing high quality, independent advice and advocacy to residents of Gloucestershire in housing, welfare benefits, immigration and family law.
The salary offered is dependent on experience: an applicant meeting the supervisor standard would start at £28,485 per annum for a 35-hour week (cost of living increase pending) but more may be available for an exceptional applicant.
