MiCLU – Breaking the Chains Project: IAAS Level 2 Solicitor/Caseworker
Are you interested in an opportunity to create change for vulnerable asylum seeking children in the UK?
Can you bring both your legal and administrative skills and commitment to child rights to establish a new project ‘Breaking the Chains’ to improve the outcomes for Albanian children and young people?
Funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation MiCLU is seeking a full time solicitor or experienced caseworker to join our small, highly skilled and regarded team, based at Islington Law Centre.
Hours: 35 hours/week, excellent Terms and Conditions
Salary: £33,458 - £37,650, depending on knowledge, qualification, & experience + 2% Auto Enrolled Pension.
Start date: 1 February 2019
This is an exciting opportunity to create change for vulnerable asylum seeking children in the UK. MiCLU in partnership with the Shpresa Programme, a user-led organisation that promotes the participation and contribution of the Albanian-speaking community in the UK have come together to develop this work. The post-holder will work with a part-time specialist Albanian-speaking youth worker based at Shpresa to represent individual children and young people. The postholder will also contribute to MiCLU's wider work aimed at improving the rights of children and young people. The role will combine legal casework with developing and delivering training, and the creation of resources for children and professionals.
