Legal Action Group (LAG) is a national charity committed to improving access to justice, particularly for the vulnerable and socially excluded. The marketing manager post is an opportunity for a proactive, dynamic and commercially-minded marketing professional to assist in promoting and developing our programme of publications and events for the legal, advice and public sectors. Working with the director of publishing you will be expected to initiate new and innovative ways to reach our market and to assist in implementing LAG’s digital first strategy.
Utilising experience, gained in a publishing environment or voluntary sector organisation, the marketing manager will need proven ability to produce effective, creative and targeted campaigns within budget. Excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and the ability to work as part of a small team are essential for success in this role.
The successful applicant will have:
At least three years’ experience gained in a target-driven marketing environment.
Ability to produce marketing plans, ideally for books and journals.
Excellent copywriting skills.
Ability to manage direct mail campaigns.
Ability to initiating successful reciprocal marketing agreements with relevant organisations.
Good knowledge of online marketing tools and social media.
Ability to interpret marketing research data.
Ability to participate in the strategic planning of the publishing department.
Proficient in use of QuarkXPress, InDesign, Excel, Word and use of databases.
This is a full-time post (35 hrs pw) based at our offices in Chancery Lane, London.
Salary scale: £27,064 – £30,512.
