About the Job

Garden Court North Chambers, which is committed to publicly funded work and to assisting the vulnerable, is looking for tenants to join our specialist Immigration and Housing Teams. Both teams are very much in demand and have growing workloads.
Our Immigration Team provides expert advice and representation in all aspects of asylum, immigration, trafficking and nationality cases. We have one of the largest teams in the country and it includes Ian Macdonald QC, a founding member of Chambers, who is an acknowledged leader in the field and the co-author of the seminal text “Macdonald’s Immigration Law and Practice” – to which other members of the team also contribute.
Our Housing Team has a national reputation for quality and skill, and we are considered to be one of the leading sets for tenants’ work outside of London. We have been involved in some of the most significant cases in housing law and have changed the legal landscape in this field. We provide expert advice and representation in all aspects of housing law and associated public law challenges across the north of England, the Midlands and beyond.
We are located in the heart of Manchester in custom-built premises, enabling us to provide a first-class service to clients and a supportive and co-operative working environment for our tenants.
With the support of an excellent practice management team, our barristers successfully work from homes in other cities and we are easily able to accommodate remote working where appropriate.
Applications should be made by sending a covering letter, CV and at least two references to the Tenancy Committee, Garden Court North Chambers, 3rd Floor, Blackfriars House, Parsonage, Manchester M3 2JA by 28th February 2019.
Chambers operates an equal opportunities policy and is committed to diversity amongst its members. We are happy to make reasonable adjustments to enable disabled candidates to demonstrate their suitability for the position.
