Role: Social Welfare Law Paralegal
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
Holidays: 33 days plus statutory holidays
Salary: £20,867 plus employer’s pension contribution of 8% and health benefits
Location: Dewsbury but could involve an element of working from home by mutual agreement. The post holder will also be required to work from our Huddersfield office and Halifax outreach centre as well as attending court and occasional other travel as necessary
 
Kirklees Citizens Advice and Law Centre are recruiting for a Social Welfare Law Paralegal to work with our Housing and Community Care (including Court of Protection – Welfare) teams.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual committed to social justice and Legal Aid work. The role will support a small team of solicitors by undertaking legal and administrative tasks .
The post holder will have principal responsibility for triaging new referrals and completing Legal Aid applications as necessary.
The successful candidate must have at least one year’s paid experience as a paralegal, caseworker or other legal support in advice provision/ the legal sector 
 
Priority will be given to candidates who also have experience of working under a Legal Aid contract.
