Ciaran McClean, a Green party politician in Northern Ireland, has instructed the same legal team that represented one of the claimants in the article 50 case in 2016 to bring a legal challenge against the government over the deal it has reached with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP).
McClean believes the agreement with the DUP breaches the Good Friday Agreement, which commits both the UK and Irish governments to demonstrate ‘rigorous impartiality’ in their dealings with the different political traditions in Northern Ireland.
