3.87There is a lot here for a reader new to the subject to grapple with, so it is worth summarising where we have got.
3.88So far, in general terms, we have looked at three things:
1)the statutory principles to be applied to anything and everything done under the MCA 2005;
2)what we mean by lacking capacity to make a decision for oneself;
3)what we mean by best interests, and how to go about determining what is in a person’s best interests.
We have also seen that the decisions which may be made for someone under the Act can relate to their personal welfare or to their property and financial affairs.
