Description: 10 Years of LASPO
An evening of stories and discussions from those fighting on the frontline for the future of legal aid.
Legal aid: fighting for the future
In the last 10 years, many of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people within our communities will have been denied access to justice. LAG doesn't think this should be allowed to continue and wants to fight for the future of legal aid.
LAG invites you to an evening of stories from the frontline that will enrage but also embolden you.
Let's come together on the anniversary and use it as an opportunity to collaborate, to start to campaign for a fairer, more equitable justice system; one that protects its citizens and gives them real access to justice when they need it.
The evening will be split into two panels. The first panel will consist of speakers who are working tirelessly across the country to promote access to justice. They will raise awareness of the struggles facing legal aid lawyers, who are working on the frontline. Following this, we will hear about how our legal aid system must change. Leading voices in the sector will offer their perspectives on how the next government must act fast and effectively to ensure the future of legal aid.
A full speaker list with bios will be provided nearer to the event.
