For adult social care in England, see the Care Act 2014.1The Care Act 2014 replaces earlier adult social care legislation: the National Assistance Act 1948, the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968, the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 (in relation to adults), the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983, the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986, parts of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 and parts of the Health and Social Care Act 2001.
For children’s social care in England, see the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970, the Children Act 1989, the Carers and Disabled Children Act 2000, the Children Act 2004, the Childcare Act 2006, sections 58–66 of the Care Act 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
