7.123The death of P automatically ends both the valid appointment of a deputy and also that of an attorney. The deputy should liaise with the personal representatives of P’s estate to make information available to allow them to administer P’s estate. A professional deputy will be entitled to final costs for winding up the deputyship. The deputy should notify the OPG of the death of P, by submitting a copy of the death certificate. Other matters for a deputy to deal with will include submitting a final report to the OPG and discharging the security.
