16.1This chapter sets out how costs are dealt with in the Court of Protection. The costs rules that apply are unique to the court, balancing as they do a number of interests that are not necessarily in play in other forms of litigation. They also make different provisions for applications involving property and affairs on the one hand, and health and welfare on the other. This chapter addresses both categories of application, together with the (common) scenario where the two are mixed.
