22.1Cases involving medical treatment form a distinct sub-set of the cases that are decided by the Court of Protection, and cases involving serious medical treatment have their own dedicated practice direction. They do not fall within the pathways set down under the Case Management Pilot,1Case Management Pilot PD para 3.1(d). although as discussed in paras 4.101, they may not fall outside the scope of the Case Management Pilot altogether.
