Notes1. A full list of offences covered by codes 1–12 appears in appendix B.2. Code 12 is used when no other appropriate code exists or when the client is not subject to an investigation or proceedings or where the nature of the matter is not known.
Definition of business day and hours
2.3A ‘business day’ means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday and any bank or public holiday in England and Wales (SCC Standard Terms 1.1).
2.4The rates for ‘unsocial hours’ apply to any work carried out by a duty solicitor or an accredited representative handling duty work after 17.30 and before 09.30 on each weekday or at weekends or on bank holidays (non-business days) (SCC A1.13 and Standard Terms 1.1).
