Advice and assistance
2.10If there is no attendance at a police station or at a place where a constable is present then claims may be made on forms CRM1 and CRM2 as set out at para 2.5 above. However, once such a police -station attendance is made, the advice and assistance claim becomes part of the police station claim (SCC B9.80–9.81) and the following rules apply.
Claims
2.11No means test applies to the work at the police station If a client is not eligible for free advice and assistance, private client fees may be claimed for that element of the work, with the attendances in connection with the police station claimed from the legal aid fund (SCC A8.50).

Attendance need not be at a police station provided that a con-stable is present This position is dealt with by Sch 4 para 2(6) of the Remuneration Regulations 20133As amended by the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration etc) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 SI No 1369. which provides that:
(6)… where the place of attendance is not a Police Station, the place of attendance is deemed to be–
(a)where an interviewing Constable is present–
(i)if the interviewing Constable is normally based at a Police Station, that Police Station, or(ii)in any other case, the Police Station nearest to the location of the interview, or
(7)where a Services Person is assisting with an investigation by Services Police, the Police Station nearest to the location of the interview.
