Payments on account of disbursements

Payments on account of disbursements
8.6In the magistrates’ court payments may be added to the standard monthly payment (SMP) if there is a prior authority, the expenditure is incurred in pursuance of that authority and the amount involved for the single disbursement is likely to exceed the value of the SMP inclusive of VAT.1SCC B10.109–10.113.
8.7For smaller amounts such payments are not made. It is, as a result, common to insert a contractual term that disbursements will not be paid until the relevant payment is received from the LAA.
8.8In the Crown Court payments on account may be obtained on production to the LAA of the authority to incur the expenditure of £100 or more and the invoice involved.2Remuneration Regulations 2013 reg 14. If individual accounts, for instance for an interpreter, would not reach £100, but more than one attendance its necessary, it is good practice to obtain an authority for the total likely to be involved.3See CCFG 1.14.
