Transcripts
8.20If a trial is to take place, a transcript of any police interview should normally be obtained unless one has been provided, in full, by the Crown, or it is clear that it will play no part in the proceedings. -Little reliance should be placed on prosecution summaries. As long as the transcript is prepared outside the office and not by a fee earner, its reasonable cost will be a recoverable disbursement. The checking and consideration of a transcript is fee earner work and so part of profit costs.
