15.4Advocacy can only be conducted under the following levels of service:
Help at Court;
Controlled Legal Representation (CLR) (immigration and mental health only);
legal representation (certificated work);
specific contracts, such as a housing court duty possession scheme contract.
Advocacy can only be carried out by a person who has a general right of audience or who has been given permission to be heard by the court in the specific case.
15.5Advocacy funded by legal aid can only be carried out in matters before a court and before certain limited tribunals. The full list is set out in LASPO Sch 1 Pt 3.
