20.1This chapter deals with issues that affect an organisation’s financial and contractual position: reconciliation, payments on account, key performance indicators (KPIs), contract compliance audits, contract manager visits and audits.
20.2Much legal aid work, with the exception of civil certificates and Criminal Crown Court cases, is paid by way of a monthly payment under either the Civil or the Crime Contract.
20.3Each contract has a schedule, which sets out what the LAA will pay you each month if you have opted for the standard monthly payment option (see below). At the end of each month, you submit bills for concluded cases via the LAA’s online claim portal
