7.7The contract contains its own definition of A, B and C grade fee earners. It sets out the criteria which determine, for costs purposes, the category into which a particular case falls. There are detailed provisions to prevent work shifting between litigators and advocates. It is critical to agree a case plan and then individual stage plans before any work is carried out, as payment will otherwise be refused.
