9.43COPR r64 provides that the evidence which supports the application should be filed at court with the application. PD 9A states that this can be provided in the form COP1, provided it is verified by a statement of truth, or by way of a witness statement in form COP24. It is suggested that in most cases it will be desirable for the applicant to provide a witness statement explaining the background to the case in appropriate detail. Questions of evidence are addressed in greater detail in chapter 12.
