9.46There may be cases where a party does not wish to reveal certain personal details to some or all of the other parties. The position is governed by COPR r15 or, where the Pilot applies, COPR Pr5.7.1COPR r15, COPR Pr5.7. This provides that if a party does not wish to reveal his or her home or business address or telephone number, or P’s address or telephone number, or details of a person with whom P is living, then those details must be provided to the court in any event. These details will, however, not be provided to any other party unless the court directs this. The party must provide an address for service that it within the jurisdiction of the court.
9.47Anyone who does not wish to reveal the details set out above should explain their reasons in a witness statement. If the party wishes to withhold more details than this, then it will be necessary to follow the procedure discussed at paras 12.102–12.111 (withholding of disclosure).
