•telephone advice, representation and casework for members of the public as part of the Civil Legal Advice telephone service in housing and debt, education (special educational needs), discrimination and family categories. This comprises an operator service which takes initial calls and a specialist adviser service which provides advice, casework and representation;

•telephone advice to people in police stations (Criminal Defence Service Direct).
